Oliver Dickinson

Oliver Dickinson is an archaeologist specializing in Greek archaeology, especially the Greek Bronze Age and 'Dark Age', and taught in the Classics and Ancient History Department at the University of Durham, U.K. from 1976-2005, and lives in Haxby near York. He has continued his academic activities after his retirement.

In 1979 when he was introduced to the boardgame White Bear and Red Moon by a temporary Lecturer in Economics. He swiftly began writing to Greg Stafford, bought RuneQuest, wrote the Griselda stories for White Dwarf and ran the RuneRites column that same magazine through the years 1981-4, but gave it up due to academic commitments. The character Griselda appears in the White Dwarf Personalities box set by Citadel Miniatures.[1] He is responsible for the character Olaf in the Pavis Boxed set 1983. Oliver claims to have little experience otherwise of gaming or roleplaying but takes a general interest in fantasy roleplaying following much of the fandom and is somewhat obsessed with the US TV sit-com F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Now in his sixty-fifth year, he may well be the oldest person interested in Glorantha He is very gratified that the Griselda stories have proved so popular, but he may finally be running out of ideas for them.
